The Oige wiki is a website that allows friends and family to compile and share memories about Og. (March 25, 1992 – July 22, 2009) was an Irish-American musician and songwriter. Oige lived his entire life in the Santa Ynez Valley in California. He played the viola and he had been planning on pursuing a career as a concert violist. He was entering his senior year at Santa Ynez High School and looked forward to graduating with his friends in the Class of 2010. Oige was involved in many activities including soccer, cross-country running, scuba diving, Boy Scouts, theatre productions, tap dancing, dog raising, and many others. He loved the outdoors, especially the forest and the desert. He was physically fit and loved to ride his bike and go hiking around the Valley. Hello! This is Liam Keane, Oige's older brother (I'm 22). Since I was five years old, I shared my life with Oige. In fact, I can't recall many memories from before I was five, so almost all of my known life was somehow related to my only sibling and my best friend, Oige, the one and only. I love him so much.

I used to create websites, casually- for friends or as a hobby. Since the death of my brother, people have been asking for various things he wrote or I said or whatever and I thought I'd put this site together. When you know nothing, do what you know or something. Its not much and will never be able to fully represent or transmit who Oige was accurately but its something. If you find it useful, that's great. If you don't, that's fine too - just putting it together is helping me remember things about Og and that's enough. One thing I have been thinking is kind of a warning: becoming obsessed with this would not be helpful and would not be what Oige would have wanted. A tribute and resource is good, getting carried away with mourning or sadness will help no one.

So that's this. Leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions or need any assistence.

I mean sure I told you to marry me everyday of freshman year, but I feel as though I neglected our friendship in some ways. I'll never forget the hilarious interviews you did for my video project about the dress code, great memories for me and my group, you were so unique, unlike all of the other interviews asking about the dress code you made it different and hilarious for example when you said, "There should be no dress code, why cover up what god has given us thats most beautiful? We should be completely naked!". Good laughs, good times.. We didn't hang much but you hung out with me and my friends at school and it'll never be the same walking up, looking at my friends, not seeing you eating your crazy cafeteria food at the table that I always stole hah... I was a an exchange student in SYHS and me and Oige shared a Latin class. He was a wonderful boy and even though we weren't closest friends, he was the one who was so sweet and nice to come and talk to me when I was brand new, in new school, new country. Not only he was a good person, also he was a great musician and i recall and a very smart person. I feel really sorry for what happen, and I send all the condolences to his family who suffered a great loss. Let us never forget him and he is in better place now.

I just found out about this, and am completely shocked. Although I admittedly didn't know Oige ridiculously well, I was still able to see him every Sunday across the symphony section. The thing that always stood out to me about him was his goofy smile, the way he always seemed to be in a good mood, his sense of humor. Our short exchanges were always happy and carefree, and the loss of such an amazing guy really hurts. My best wishes go out to the Keanes. Rest in peace, Oige.

Oige was such a wonderful guy. I played viola with him in SBYS, and took lessons from his same teacher, Mary Beth Woodruff. Even though I've only really talked to him a few times, he was such a kind, fun, positive person, and an integral part of the viola section. I remember at one of Mary Beth's recitals, I was pretty nervous, and he came right over and sat next to me and cheered me up, seeming like he wasn't one bit nervous. He always had a smile on his face, and I only wish I had gotten to know him better. Rest in peace my friend.

I met Oige when I directed my first (of many) shows in the Little Theatre, Anne of Green Gables. He and his brother Liam were cast as towns-kids in Anne's world. We would crack up at Oige's "slushing" speech impediment and his immensely large feet for a person so small. He more than grew into those feet. He was a beautiful, sensitive and loving young man (with more than his share of Irish talent). I will miss him, his polite, smiling and open visits to our house to play music w/ Celia, but I am glad I knew him, had a chance to brush up against him. I am a better person for it. One of the funniest, most entertaining guys in Concert Choir this past year. All the choir people will definitely remember him always managing to switch words around between verses in our songs... :] And he had this gnarly super high womanly falsetto voice that he couldn't really control, that was hilarious, and never really made sense because his deep voice was almost lower than my own...

i can say for certain that oige will be remembered as one of the funnest, silliest, most creative and talented young men i ever had the pleasure of knowing and playing music with. i am so devestated that (another) beautiful person my age died so unexpectedly. oige was a brilliant person and had so much to look forward to. i think we all owe it to his family and friends that we share our favorite memories of our dear friend and maybe compile them all into a written form. if everyone wants to write down a story, i'll willingly collect them, edit and print them for his family to have. his ever friendly face will not soon be forgotten.

this last year, both oige and i were asked to play music for emilio soltero's book signing at the book loft in solvang. we hadn't prepared anything for it, and both of us were pretty unhappy about playing behind a table full of best selling contemporary literature. oige began the set by playing a bach piece he needed for some viola audition video, and as soon he was done exclaimed, “brian, let’s play this paul simon song!” he grabbed my guitar and clumsily made his way through the chords, straining a ridiculous falsetto to try to teach me the backup vocals to “america.” nobody was really listening, but it was a great moment for the two of us.

and oh yes, singing christmas carols in the back of art class. so grand.

(March 25, 1992 – July 22, 2009) was an Irish-American musician and songwriter. Oige lived his entire life in the Santa Ynez Valley in California. He played the viola and he had been planning on pursuing a career as a concert violist. He was entering his senior year at Santa Ynez High School and looked forward to graduating with his friends in the Class of 2010. Oige was involved in many activities including soccer, cross-country running, scuba diving, Boy Scouts, theatre productions, tap dancing, dog raising, and many others. He loved the outdoors, especially the forest and the desert. He was physically fit and loved to ride his bike and go hiking around the Valley. == Twin Parable ==
Once upon a time, twin boys were conceived in the womb. Seconds, minutes, hours passed as the two dormant lives developed. The spark of life grew and each tiny brain began to take shape and form. With their simple embryonic brain came feeling, and with feeling, perception; a perception of surroundings, of each other and their own life. They knew that life was good, and they laughed and rejoiced: the one saying, "Lucky are we to have been conceived, and to have this
world," and the other chiming in, "Blessed be our Mother who gave us this life and each other."

Each budded and grew arms and fingers, lean legs and stubby toes. They stretched their bodies and churned and turned in their new-found world. They explored in it and found the life cord which gave them life from the precious Mother's blood. So they sang, "How great is the love of the Mother that she shares all she has with us!" And they were pleased and satisfied with their lot. Weeks passed into months, and with the advent of each new month, they noticed a change in each other and each began to see change in himself.

"We are changing," said the one. "What can it
mean?"

"It means," replied the other, "that we are
drawing near to birth."

An unsettling chill crept over the two, and they both feared for they knew that birth meant leaving all their world behind. Said the one, "Were it up to me, I would live here forever."

"We must be born," said the other. "It has happened to the others who were here before," for indeed there was evidence the Mother had carried life before. "But mightn't there be life after birth?"

"How can there be life after birth?" cried the one, "Do we not shed our life cord and also the blood tissue?" And have you ever talked to one that has been born? Has anyone ever re-entered the womb after birth? No!" He fell into despair, and in his despair he moaned, "If the purpose of conception and all our growth is that it be ended in birth, then truly our life is senseless." Resigned to despair, he stabbed the darkness with his unseeing eyes and as he clutched his precious life cord to his chest said, "If this is so, and life is absurd, then there really can be no Mother."

"But there is a Mother," protested the other. "Who else gave us nourishment and our world?"

"We get our own nourishment, and our world has always been here," said the one. "And if there is a Mother, where is she? Have you ever seen her? Does she ever talk to you? No! We invented the Mother because it satisfied a need in us. It made us feel secure and happy."

Thus, while the one raved and despaired, the other resigned himself to birth, and placed his trust in the hands of his Mother. Hours ached into days, and days fell into weeks. And it came time. Both knew their birth was at hand, and both feared what they did not know. As the one was first to be conceived, so he was the first to be born, the other following. They cried as they were born into the light. And coughed out fluid and gasped dry air. And when they were sure they had been born, they opened their eyes seeing for the first time, and found themselves cradled in the warm love of the Mother! They lay open-mouthed, awe-struck before that beauty and truth they could not hope to have known before their birth.

There are several ways to start a new page. These can vary based on the type of page started, as well as the wiki and namespace.

== Using Wikilinks ==
MediaWiki makes it very easy to link wiki pages using a standard syntax (see [[Help:Links|Links]]). If you (or anyone else) creates a link to an article that doesn't exist yet, the link will be coloured red, <span style="color: #ba0000">like this</span>.

Clicking a red link will take you to the edit page for the new article. Simply type your text, click save and the new page will be created.

Once the page has been created, the link will change from <span style="color: #ba0000">red</span> to <span style="color: #002bb8;">blue</span> (<span style="color: #5a3696;">purple</span> for pages you've visited) indicating that the article now exists.

Usually this is the best way to create a new page, because it means that right from the start, the page will be linked from at least one other place on the wiki (and typically you will want to mesh it into other related pages later). If you are creating a new page without creating any link to it, you may need to ask yourself: Does this page really fit in with the topics already covered in the wiki? Also, how are you expecting visitors to find this page? Normally there is no reason to create a page without first creating a red link to it.

If you move page "A" to a new title "B", this operation will do the following:
* Renames the title of page "A" as "B"
* Renames all the editing history of page "A" as of page "B" as well
* Creates a new page "A", whose content is a [[Help:Redirects|redirect]] to page "B"


The second point is important. By using the "Move" feature, you also '''move the editing history''', which is desirable in most situations. The editing history allows people to see how the contents of the page were built up, and who contributed what. If you move contents around by copying and pasting (not using the move feature), you do not achieve this (see also [[Help:Tracking changes]]).

Because the move operation '''leaves behind a redirect''' (see [[Help:Redirects]]), it should not result in any broken links, however you might want to hunt down pages or other redirects which link in to the redirect, and change their text to link directly to the new title. The number one rule of wiki editing, is to ''be bold''. Dive in and make changes. Other people can correct mistakes later, so have confidence, and give it a try!
