How to add your story

Step 1. Choose a title

Once you have an account, you can create a new page for your story to be on. Look at your browsers' address bar. Right now it should display this address

http://wiki.oigekeane.com/Oigepedia:Stories

Click inside the address bar and change the URL to a new page using the prefix Story: followed by your title. It should look like this

http://wiki.oigekeane.com/Story:Memories of Oige by John Smith

or

http://wiki.oigekeane.com/Story:Exploring Cachuma Lake in Summer

Once you have typed the URL you want, press enter.

Step 2. Edit the page

After you press enter, you should see the message

"There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, search the related logs, or edit this page."

(If you don't see this page, and see other text, it means someone is already using that title. Try another title.)

Press edit this page. Type or paste your story in the box. At the bottome of the page, write [[Category:Stories]] so that your page automatically appears in the list of stories. Press preview to see how it will look or press the "Save page" button to upload your text. That's it! You're done!

Too complicated? Email us

If this seems too complicated, you may email a story you would like to contribute to memories@oigekeane.com and we will post it for you. Please include the name you want to be credited as. (Also note that submissions are assumed to be licensed under a by-nc-sa license which allows others the use of the project for noncommercial purposes. If you object, please let us know and we will not license your submission that way.) Thanks.

Share a short comment instead

If you don't really have a story to share but instead a comment for the family, you can post that on Oigepedia:Memorial Wall or on the Facebook group. Email or postal cards are other ways to send regards to the family and all of your notes are much appreciated.
