Miss you Oige! :(

I only knew Oige for two weeks, since I only knew him through summer camp. He always had a great personality and could make everyone laugh. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. I will always remember his stunning blue eyes and giant smile.
Linda West
The hawk is representative of soaring to higher states of awareness and vision. You can expect communications with spirit to open up more fully whenever hawk visits. Hawk energy is highly-charged and not to be ignored. Hawk implies a higher calling needs to be expressed.

Your bother’s speech made me hope you are well, flying out there finally free of worldly pain. “Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without words, and never stops at all.”- Emily Dickenson I will try to selfishly covet you back into the world less and try more to believe you where you belong, free and safe. You were a true friend and I loved you for it. ~Nikki
I miss you Oige. "That bitter hour cannot be described: in truth, 'the waters came into my soul; I sank into deep mire: I felt no standing; I came into deep waters; the floods overflowed me.'"-charlotte Bronte I know you respect my weird love of Jane Eyre, I don't know if you ever knew how much you really were to me. I mean sure I told you to marry me everyday of freshman year, but I feel as though I neglected our friendship in some ways. I truly admired your passion in music, our deep conversations, they way you were so comfortable with yourself and even those crazy orange satin sheets you had, I just never told you. When I first heard I was scared, then pissed off, then in denial, I didn’t understand how this could happen to you. At your memorial I kept remembering all the good times we had, we never once threw angry words at each other, you were always there to speak reason to me, to debate my silly thoughts, and to create the most bizarre situations.

Oige, a prayer for you:
" ... The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon the right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and for ever more .."
From Psalm 126

Oige: A young man with an old soul that is now free to soar with the eagles, even as he lives on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. You will be missed dear one.

Camping trips will never be the same without you Oige. Always full of energy and charisma, you always made the most of every moment. You were an amazing violinist and an amazing person. I will miss you.

Words cannot express the tremendous sadness and sorrow that we feel… not just for this very precious life lost, but for Oige’s family and everyone who knew and loved him. They are in our constant thoughts and prayers…. We pray that God gives them the utmost amount of strength to help them get through these truly trying times.

I'll always remember little Oige and his lisp during Anne of Green Gables rehearsals. He was a joy to work with and I feel very lucky to have known him. I wish I could've also known him as the tall charismatic man it seems he grew into, but he will live on in my memory. I am so sorry for your loss, Liam. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Love, Kaia

Oige, I'll never forget the hilarious interviews you did for my video project about the dress code, great memories for me and my group, you were so unique, unlike all of the other interviews asking about the dress code you made it different and hilarious for example when you said, "There should be no dress code, why cover up what god has given us thats most beautiful? We should be completely naked!". Good laughs, good times.. We didn't hang much but you hung out with me and my friends at school and it'll never be the same walking up, looking at my friends, not seeing you eating your crazy cafeteria food at the table that I always stole hah... You were always a bright guy, with a big smile and very respectful. I wish I could make the funeral, but I'm gone for summer,do know I honor your life and I hope for you the best, rest in peace friend.. To Mr. and Mrs. Keane I'm very sorry for your loss, cherish how happy he made you when he was here, best regards.

Oige I remember when we met the first day of freshmen year. you were in 6 of my 7 classes and it took no time til you became one of my closest friends. We had really good times going on adventures, working together at greenhouse, both of our history in a blenders, building forts in your music room and talking about life and music. You were so thoughtful, sweet, understanding, fun, talented, smart and overall just ridiculously amazing. Its hard to imagine i'll never get another huge and enthusiastic bear hug from you. You've touched so many people and you'll never be forgotten. I love you and i miss you Love, Jennifer

This is so sad. I didn't know him very well, but he was always kind to me when we were in choir together.
Lauren Morrison

Oige and I also danced together he was great at that too.Oige was a amazing singer and every time he sung in the mission he was loud and clear. From dance to violin Oige wiil be missed. RIP
Kristina Kaime
Oige was truely a great guy. His positive and goofy personality never failed to put a smile on my face at YS and his presence always brightened everyone's mood. My heart goes out to his family and friends, he will be missed.
Maja Marija Pavicevic
I was a an exchange student in SYHS and me and Oige shared a Latin class. He was a wonderful boy and even though we weren't closest friends, he was the one who was so sweet and nice to come and talk to me when I was brand new, in new school, new country. Not only he was a good person, also he was a great musician and i recall and a very smart person. I feel really sorry for what happen, and I send all the condolences to his family who suffered a great loss. Let us never forget him and he is in better place now.

Oige and I used to car pool to dance class. Fun stuff and good memories. I am happy with the friendship we had and I am sad that it's just memories now. He was one of the funniest most loving people I have known and we will all miss him.

oige was such a great guy, i remember so many sunday evenings at youth symphony where we would all just hang out together and share music, and the occasional run to The Habit. we'll all miss him very much.
Andrew Hsu
I just found out about this, and am completely shocked. Although I admittedly didn't know Oige ridiculously well, I was still able to see him every Sunday across the symphony section. The thing that always stood out to me about him was his goofy smile, the way he always seemed to be in a good mood, his sense of humor. Our short exchanges were always happy and carefree, and the loss of such an amazing guy really hurts. My best wishes go out to the Keanes. Rest in peace, Oige.
Nico Moreno
Oige was such a wonderful guy. I played viola with him in SBYS, and took lessons from his same teacher, Mary Beth Woodruff. Even though I've only really talked to him a few times, he was such a kind, fun, positive person, and an integral part of the viola section. I remember at one of Mary Beth's recitals, I was pretty nervous, and he came right over and sat next to me and cheered me up, seeming like he wasn't one bit nervous. He always had a smile on his face, and I only wish I had gotten to know him better. Rest in peace my friend.
Lisa Bertero Palmer
Oige was such a light and joy - we mourn his loss but know he will continue to burn bright in so many souls. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Keane family.

to all friend, colleagues, and supporters of the keane family : a memorial fund has been set up to aid the keane family in the arrangements they will have in the coming weeks and months due to the tragic loss of their dear son, oige. this fund was set up by tom mortensen and matthew woodruff and will be exclusively available for the family only. it is with a devastating sense of loss that i, as his violin/viola teacher for the past 8 years, write these words but i know we all want to do what we can to support this wonderful family in this time of unspeakable pain. oige, i love and miss you beyond words.
The "Oige Keane Memorial Fund" has been established at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust for those wishing to make a contribution. We will contact the SB News Press and Valley Journal to have them publish the fund information.

Oige we have had so many memories together... starting in 2nd grade when I moved to the valley. I always remember you were kind and accepting to me even when I was the new kid. We danced for 4 years together, played soccer together, hung out... I'm going to miss seeing you around. It is still almost unreal that when school starts again I wont see you in any of my classes or around in the halls. You were an amazing person and I can honestly say that I don't think there is anyone in this world that didn't like you because you were always so kind and generous to everyone. Your life will be missed very much but where ever you are now I'm sure the people love you and you are continuing to make everyone laugh and smile. It was an honor to get to know you. RIP
Kelly Gray
Whenever and wherever therre are thoughts of Oige, there will be light, love, and a reminder that life is a precious gift. Joanne, Denis and Liam...you are loved.
Nicho DellaValle
Oige, we'll always love you and never forget about your positive attitude towards life. I won't ever forget the church retreats and all the boys scouts and soccer we did together. You werre an amazing person with many talents. You played the violen like a pro. R.I.P

Oige was an inspiration to all he encountered, and a beautiful soul. Gone too soon, Oige. Our hearts and prayers are with the Keanes.
Mary Beth Lepkowsky
After seeing Oige years ago as an adorable Tiger Cub, I had the good furtune of being reacquainted with him through the high school music program. He grew to be a handsome, talented, charming, community minded young man. Watching him perform...whether instrument or vocal...was magical! At the last concert I couldn't stop smiling when I watched him sing with the choir becasue he was sooooo into it!!! And it showed on his beaming face. This man belonged on stage and yet was so gracious and modest about his talent! He always stepped in to lend a hand when needed...whether to help raise money for the music program...or clean up trash after the music department BBQ!!! What a delightful person with so much promise. I am happy to have known him. May the road rise to meet you...and may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Cat Elgarrista
Oige, you were so nice. We barely knew each other from L.O. and you let me randomly attach myself to your HP group when I was waiting in line, just because I was alone. You were too kind. You will be missed by many.
Lena Fredrickson
Oige! I'll never forget the sweet jigs you used to do at the Ballard Talent shows! What an awesome guy you are. :)

I will miss Oige very much, I will miss his zealous joy for Tchaikovsky and his recent dream of subsistence farming. I am so grateful for the friendship we had; he was honestly one of a kind, a brilliant, talented, and kind person. Whenever I hear Cat Stevens, I will think of him.
Matt Taylor
Oige, I feel the better person to have had you in my class for your two years of junior high. You will be missed.
Leila Hoenicke
I really enjoyed playing in the string quartet at Sequoia with you. I wish I had gotten to know you better. You will be missed.
Margaret Emerson
Ogie, you were an inspiration to many youth at the Old Mission Santa Ines. Such a very talented young man and most of all a very kind soul. You were so approachable and genuine. When you sang in our youth choir, we could see that you sang from your heart. We will miss you dearly. Blessing on your wonderful family whom we have loved through the years in our church community. . . We will always remember you Ogie.
Nicci Bow
We were such great friends at L.O and i'm so happy you tried to stick with me when you went off to high school. You were always so hilarious and always laughing. I am in such a numb stage right now, I don't even know what to say. My memories and feelings and positive energy go out to his family and I hope everyone realizes howhe touched their lives with his presence. You will definently be missed...
Curt Cragg
Our thoughts are with the Keane Family during this extremely tough time. We are thinking about you we care about you and we are here to do whatever we can to support you! We will miss Oige.

I just met Oige at Sequoia Chamber Music at Humboldt llast month, and one of the few memories I have of him was singing with him in the dorms, eating meals with him along with the rest of our friends....i'm still in the stage of shock.... :(

So very sorry for such a tragic loss ... words fail ...

Such a loss in a world that is already short 'quality' people like Oige. Whenever I saw Oige he was always wearing a sincere smile. Kindness and warm emanated from Oige. The Santa Barbara youth symphony family will miss you. My prayers are with the Keane family and all Oige's friends.
Cassidy Dadigian
Oige your smile truly always lit up the room. You were such a kind and giving person and I know (because I graded almost all your English papers) that you were also exceedingly bright. It truly hurts to know you are gone. But you will always live on in all our hearts. Rest in peace Oige. We love you.
Daniel Masnada
Oige, I can honestly say that you are my best friend and noone will ever be able to replace the spot you have in my life. You helped me get through so much. Some of the best conversations of my life took place in the basement of your grandpas house. Its so hard seeing you go. You were the nicest person I have ever known. You could always put a smile on anyones face. I love you man. I'm going to miss you more than anything. Rest in peace buddy Love, Daniel

I hear the name and Oige and the first thought is of his BIG smile and flamboyant and cheerful HI!!! So many happy memories of him. Sitting on the pool deck watchin his Big Bro Liam's polo games and just a happy guy. I still cant belive this happened once again in the Valley. My thoughts are with his family.

Oige..Such wonderful memories of such a sweet boy. From baseball and soccer games to Derby car races for scouts...and how gracefully you moved across the stage for LODG. Your beautiful smile and warm tender heart will be forever missed. This kid used to crack me up like no other! The kind of person who truly enjoyed and got something out of life and gave it back tenfold. In my prayers, rest in peace.
Amelia Archer
I miss you Oige. Cross Country was so much fun with you. I remember the day you and Daniel and I decided that we were just going to walk one entire practice-and we started talking about what it would be like if we walked a whole race...man I miss that. Choir was awesome with you there-I swear I'm gonna hear your voice in my head forever. Miss you man.
Jessica Kennedy
Oige~ You were one of the nicest people I have ever known. I'm so glad I was able to know you better through Choir. You were always so passionate about music. I had so much fun with you at Disneyland. We have shared some good laughs. You will be greatly missed. It will definitley be weird not seeing you at church! You once wrote this to me: " We shall meet once more under the sky, above the earth. Until then..." I know this is true and can't wait to see you in Heaven. God bless. Love, Jessica

He will be remembered for the kindnesses he has done and the hearts he has touched and he will live forever in the lives he has changed.
Jeanne Greenfield
I've known Oige and Joanne and Liam and Dennis for years at the Old Mission. They are a loving family - living simply and connected to one another. Joanne is a member of the Sisters of Divine Chardonnay (aka Sisters in Spirit). Oige had GROWN when I last saw him singing in the 5pm Mass Youth Choir - he was so TALL, and my goodness what a voice. I've heard he was gifted musically, involved with the Music Academy of the West - but I have to add that his voice was amazing. He sang with his heart. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Joanne - you have my heart.
Jeffrey McKinnon
I met Oige when I directed my first (of many) shows in the Little Theatre, Anne of Green Gables. He and his brother Liam were cast as towns-kids in Anne's world. We would crack up at Oige's "slushing" speech impediment and his immensely large feet for a person so small. He more than grew into those feet. He was a beautiful, sensitive and loving young man (with more than his share of Irish talent). I will miss him, his polite, smiling and open visits to our house to play music w/ Celia, but I am glad I knew him, had a chance to brush up against him. I am a better person for it. "Good Night, sweet prince, and bands of angels wing thee to thy rest..."
Alif Marchi
I got to meet Oige in Mock Trial. We saw each other at school a lot.
RIP Oige,
My condolences to his family...
Bailey Adams

I have been going to school with him since 7th grade! He always said HI to everyone with a big smile on his face. He had so many wonderful talents that made everyone around him laugh. My family and I's thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. . . RIP Oige. . . You will be missed dearly.

Ogie...you we're one of the chillest, most laid-back, fun to be around people I have ever met. You always seemed so content with life, it put a smile on my face every time we talked. We're going to miss you, Scouts honor. Rest in peace buddy.
Katherine Christensen
I didn't know Oige personally; but, he has always been a part of my life. I've seen him at school, dance way back when, church, and around the valley. Every Sunday he played in our church youth choir. When he sang I knew that it meant so much to him. It felt like it was more then the words, more then the beat of the music to him. He was truly talented and a treasure to so many people at our church. It breaks my heart that we have lost another friend, classmate, and such a special person in our lives. It reminds me that life in the valley this year has been tough and beyond sad. I know that God has a plan for each of us and he is always in control of our lives. Our prayers are with his family and loved ones. Rest in peace Oige. -Katherine C.

I remember Oige as a Tiger and Cub Scout when his brother Liam was a Boy Scout. He was so cute in his uniforms and he wanted so much to hang with the older boys. My condolences go out to his parents and to Liam.

I had the pleasure of working with Oige at the Sunshine Brothers concert in May this year. Not only did he volunteer his time, but also enlisted the help of others too. He always had a smile and nothing was too much trouble. He was kind, generous, caring, funny and I enjoyed his playful sense of humor. Our community has lost a great guy today and my heart goes out to his family and friends.
Ashleigh Giacomotti

RIP oige. nights at natalie's were amazing. some of the best memories i had up at dunn.
Mason Michael VanValin
i don't have words Oige. i dont have words to express the way i feel. all the years we had will live in my mind forever and i'll never forget you. i'm tired of this world. and all the things in it. i know now you've found the most wonderful place that could ever be. and the thought of seeing you again one day up there keeps me going. i don't need to share any inside stories or jokes that we had cause you already know them. we were independent alone except for each other. from first grade on to 8th. and there's things i wish i had done. things i wish i had said. but i know i'm a better person because of knowing you. more well rounded. stronger, kinder and more understanding. you never brought me down for anything. you never made me feel bad about doing something unless you knew it was wrong. and in that case so i did i. i'll never forget you Oige. and i'll see you again. you can be sure of that. i'll miss you more than anyone can know. but i'll see you again. i'll see you again.
Josh Reed
Oige I love you man. and I can say hanging with you since freshman year Im a changed man. your me and skyler were like the three musketeers! R.I.P.
Karen Roberts
Oige...through the years from baseball, to music to those long, boring high school classes, you were always a ray of sunshine. The song you lent Boomer for his senior project was wonderful. Gone too soon, your positive attitute towards everything will be missed.
Samantha Foxen
I'll miss going through hell with you Oige in the most boring electives we could've chose in high school ♥ hope you're in peace
Rayna Jensen
oh oige, only you and i know the wonderous world of mrs. chalmers' cello lessons. this little town will be so so sad without you and your big happy smile.
Lauren Oaks
A kind and genuine young man. Full of integrity and honor and respect. He was in Boy Scouts with my brother. Dad was his scoutmaster, and was always impressed by the caliber of Oige's character. He will be sorely missed, and I deeply regret not having known him better.
May he rest in peace, I'm sure he is still laughing somewhere with the same wit, joy and freedom that he seems to have exuded in his life.
Robbie Crowder
Oige has always made me laugh. I knew him basically my whole life. One of the funniest things i remember was 8th grade when we were making a video for that visual tech class Mrs. Squires taught. He was dressed in cardboard armor and alex and him were battling it out. When we slowed it down alex said, "Oige you sound like a wookie." That and his random jokes were amazing and unforgettable.
Kelly Macdonald
I'm going to miss Oige! He was such a cool guy and a fun person to have in class. He was also one of the few people in my A.P. classes I could chat with every once in a great while, making them just a tad easier to bare. I can't believe this happened!
Ricardo Gonzalez
I remember i met Oige in freshmen year because of soccer..he was the funniest guy ever on and off the field..i remember especialy the game against Santa Barbara where Oige goes after a huge a guy running at full speed and in result he ends up getting an elbow to the face..as he is getting up he has a huge smile on his face and says "coach i think my nose is broken"..which we later found out it was =]..really going to miss this guy
Sandie Mullin
My first memory of Oige is seeing him dancing on stage for LODG. What an amazing talent. I heard stories of Oige over the last few years from Chris about what a great person and student Oige was. I was fortunate enough to get to know him a bit better this last May when he volunteered his time to help out at the Sunshine Brothers concert. He was an amazingly polite, witty, caring young man. My deepest condolences to his friends and especially to his family.
Boomer Ray Roberts
One of the funniest, most entertaining guys in Concert Choir this past year. All the choir people will definitely remember him always managing to switch words around between verses in our songs... :] And he had this gnarly super high womanly falsetto voice that he couldn't really control, that was hilarious, and never really made sense because his deep voice was almost lower than my own...
Riley James
wtf?? is this real?
Brian Azevedo
i can say for certain that oige will be remembered as one of the funnest, silliest, most creative and talented young men i ever had the pleasure of knowing and playing music with. i am so devestated that (another) beautiful person my age died so unexpectedly. oige was a brilliant person and had so much to look forward to. i think we all owe it to his family and friends that we share our favorite memories of our dear friend and maybe compile them all into a written form. if everyone wants to write down a story, i'll willingly collect them, edit and print them for his family to have. his ever friendly face will not soon be forgotten.
this last year, both oige and i were asked to play music for emilio soltero's book signing at the book loft in solvang. we hadn't prepared anything for it, and both of us were pretty unhappy about playing behind a table full of best selling contemporary literature. oige began the set by playing a bach piece he needed for some viola audition video, and as soon he was done exclaimed, “brian, let’s play this paul simon song!” he grabbed my guitar and clumsily made his way through the chords, straining a ridiculous falsetto to try to teach me the backup vocals to “america.” nobody was really listening, but it was a great moment for the two of us.
and oh yes, singing christmas carols in the back of art class. so grand.
Ashley Tracy
Photography...good times ]:
He will be missed
